Minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed Al-Mubarqa confirmed that the fruitful role of the President of the Olympic Committee, Aqil Muftan, in the Asian Executive Council will serve the interests of Iraqi sports.
A statement by the Ministry of Youth and Sports received by the (INA) today, Wednesday, stated that “Minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed Al-Mubarqa congratulated the victory of the President of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muftan, as a member of the Executive Office of the Olympic Council of Asia in the elections of the General Assembly of the Executive Council during its electoral meeting held in the Indian capital, New Delhi, and his election as Chairman of the International Relations Committee for the current Olympic electoral cycle 2024-2028.”
He added that “Al-Mubarqa’ appreciated the influential role of the President of the Olympic Committee, wishing him success in his new mission that serves the interests of Iraqi achievement sport.”
