(24News) The first full court meeting chaired by the newly elected Chief Justice Yahya Afridi has ended, the meeting lasted for more than 2 hours, there is a possibility that the declaration of the full court meeting will be issued.
According to the sources, a full court meeting was held in the Supreme Court under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, all the available judges participated in the meeting which lasted for about two hours, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah could not participate in the meeting due to the payment of Umrah.
According to the sources, in the full court meeting, important administrative matters including the reservations of the judges were considered, apart from this, judicial reforms were also discussed in the meeting, the declaration of the full court meeting is likely to be issued.
Earlier Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi heard 30 cases in the Supreme Court on the first day, 6 out of 30 cases were postponed due to various reasons.
It should be noted that after the implementation of the 26th constitutional amendment, the special parliamentary committee appointed Justice Yahya Afridi as the Chief Justice.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah did not participate in his swearing-in ceremony due to his age, while he did not participate in the full court reference of Qazi Faiz’s retirement, however, he wrote a letter to the Registrar Supreme Court in which Justice (retd) Qazi Faiz Isa was found guilty of collusion for interfering in the judiciary.
Apart from this, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has released the Judges Roster from October 28 to November 1 after Chief Justice Yahya Afridi was sworn in by the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Under the Practice and Procedure Act, the Registrar has issued a roster according to which 8 benches of the Supreme Court will hear cases from October 28. Muneeb Akhtar and Justice Athar Manullah will join.
The bench will consist of three Justices Aminuddin Khan and Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, similarly, the 4th bench will include Justice Jamal Mandukhel, Justice Musrat Hilali and Justice Malik Shahzad.
Bench five will consist of Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Bench six will consist of Justice Ayesha A. Malik and Justice Aqeel Abbasi, Bench seven will consist of Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, while Bench eight will consist of Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Mazhar Alam Mian Khel. will consist of
