The foreign ministers of the G7 countries condemned “in the strongest terms” the sending of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia, Reuters reported.

“Iran must immediately and completely end its support for Russia’s illegal and unjustified war against Ukraine and stop such transfers of ballistic missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and related technologies,” said a joint statement by the foreign ministers of Canada, France, Germany , Italy, Japan, Great Britain and the USA. The text states that the weapons with which Tehran supplies Moscow “represent a direct threat to the Ukrainian people, as well as to European and international security”, BTA reported.

Earlier this week, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said Russia had received ballistic missiles from Iran and was likely to use them within weeks, and the US, Germany, Britain and France imposed new sanctions on Tehran.

The Kremlin and the Iranian foreign minister, for their part, rejected the accusations of the Western allies.
