Bigger, more, more international. It comes with a trio of novelties the Genoa boat show, scheduled from 16 to 21 September 2021. The president of the Liguria Region, Giovanni Toti, the mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci, the president, will tell about the 61 edition – partner, among others, the Ministry of Economic Development and Ice – and the general manager of Confindustria Nautica, Saverio Cecchi and Marina Stella, the managing director and commercial director of “I Saloni Nautici”, Carla Demaria and Alessandro Campagna.
Sold out on the 200 thousand square meters of exhibition (85% outdoors)
The first fact is that, reflecting the data of a growing market, there is a full house by national and international exhibitors, also attracted by the success achieved last year, when – despite the pandemic and thanks to a strict protocol – the salon was the only one to be held in Europe. The exhibition is spread over an area of over 200,000 square meters, with 85% of the outdoor areas. Over a thousand boats and new projects on display and the record figure of a thousand brands is touched.
The works of the new Boat Show (target 2023)
In the Salone area, the works for the new waterfront of Levante, started in 2020, from 2023 they will offer 200 more berths, a renovated Palasport inserted in a context characterized by residences, residence hotels, commercial spaces, services and a park, created with a mix of public private investments of over 350 million EUR. Already today, the new mooring dock for outboard boats, together with the new piers in the other docks, guarantees an increase in the available water surface by 19%.
Present all the top players
As for the exhibitors, they will be present all top players for the various sectors of the sector.
In the field Yachts & Superyachts confirm their presence at the Sanlorenzo Boat Show, Azimut Benetti, Gruppo Fipa, Amer Yachts, Bluegame, Pardo Yachts, Rio Yachts and Sessa Marine.
Confirmations also from abroad with Princess and Sunseeker while Baglietto, Ferretti Group, Cranchi Yachts, Absolute, Arcadia Yachts and Sirena Marine return to Genoa this year.
Sailing with the great Italian and foreign names
Also in the Sailing World there are confirmations both from Italy and abroad with the latest innovations from Cantiere del Pardo, Solaris Yachts, Nautor’s Swan, Mylius Yachts, Vismara Marinee Italia Yachts. The French Beneteau, Jeanneau, Dufour and the Germans Bavaria Yachts and Hanse will arrive from abroad.
Also in the sailing segment there will be an entire quay dedicated to multihulls with Fountaine Pajot, Bali, Dufour, C-Cat.
A particular space was then dedicated to the traditional boats of the Mediterranean, i goiters. Present the news of Giorgio Mussini, Apreamare, Sciallino, Patrone and Esposito, which always keep alive the tradition of wood and shipwrights.
The new fishing and fisherman area
A new area dedicated to boats from fishing and fisherman with the presence, among others, of 3B Craft, Axopar, Boston Whaler, Pursuit and Nuova Tucoli.
It’s a question of the engine
In terms of “engines”, the Boat Show marks the return of leading companies in the inboard segment such as Cummins, Lombardini, Volvo Penta, Man, Nanni, together with those operating in the generators and on-board systems such as Mase and SAIM. For outboard engines, all the news from Selva, Honda, Evinrude, Yamaha, Suzuki are present. Together with them the excellence of the largest production of pneumatic boats, with Zar, Capelli, BWA, Ranieri International, Marlin Boats, Nuova Jolly, Joker, Master, Lomac, MV Marin, Mar.co.
Safety and health protocol
The health protocol will be in continuity with the 2020 one, which had been fully approved by the National Scientific Technical Committee, with the addition of the provisions that provide for the Green Pass to access the trade fairs. Tickets are sold only online and include the possibility of booking parking and additional services.
The appointments of the Salone: from Luna Rossa to the RoundItaly regatta
Among the events, the 2nd edition of the “Design Innovaton Award”, a prize established by Confindustria Nautica and Saloni Nautici to support the excellence of boating, the meeting with the athletes present at the Tokyo Olympics and with the team Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, winner of the Prada Cup and finalist atAmerica’s Cup held in New Zealand.
There will be later Giancarlo Pedote, which concluded the 2020 edition of Sell Globe, around the world without assistance and without stopping, in eighth place, best Italian performance ever.
At the opening of the Salone the RoundItaly, the longest non-stop offshore regatta in the Mediterranean: 1,130 miles which will also define the distance record Genoa-Trieste, ideally combining the two cities.
