German Virologist Professor Ralf Bartenschlager Honored for Translational Infection Research
Heidelberg University Hospital’s virologist Professor Ralf Bartenschlager has been presented with the prestigious prize for translational infection research by the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF). The award, which includes a cash prize of 5,000 euros, was presented during the DZIF annual meeting held in Hanover.
As a long-standing DZIF scientist, Bartenschlager has played a significant role in the field of molecular virology. He has been actively involved in the coordination committee of the DZIF research area “Hepatitis” and has conducted extensive research on the interaction between viruses and the host cells.
