PICKS: Dishes of restaurants

The Israeli brand specializes in restaurant dishes, that is, a pre-prepared version, sold chilled, of dishes that are served fresh in restaurants. It is understandable that there will be a gap between the two, something that becomes clear when you eat, for example, the Asian-seasoned salmon fillet of the Manta Ray restaurant, served on rice noodles and green beans. This is a lovely dish, which is a good option for those who want to eat salmon without preparing it, at a very affordable price (NIS 49). But it doesn’t really compare to a restaurant dish, and you should know that in advance. If you focus on salads and spreads, such as chopped liver from Havat Tzuk, then you can understand the genius of the brand, which for the first time makes quality products available to the general public.

from 25 shekels. Available at selected branches of AM:PM in Tel Aviv, and later in other locations in Israel.

Strauss: Elite coffee capsules in collaboration with local roasters

Nacht Roastery, Oleh Roastery and Unico Roastery are the three roasters with which the company cooperates in the creation of this new series of capsules. These are small, local roasters, which naturally offer different types of coffee beans and not capsules. Thanks to this collaboration, capsules with unique mixtures can be purchased throughout the country. Olaeh coffee, made from 100% Arabica with a strength of 13, is a relatively strong coffee, with pronounced flavors of coffee and even chocolate. Coffee Unico, strength grade 10, is a balanced blend, with a good strength grade, which successfully combines freshness with bitterness. And Nahat coffee in strength grade 7, made of 100% Arabica, is characterized by high acidity and fruitiness, and is suitable for espresso, Americano and cappuccino. The capsules are designed for the classic Nespresso machines, and are made of aluminum.

Up to NIS 20.9 for 10 capsules. available in marketing networks and points of sale.

Willipod: Lentil Chips

This product line is one of the best surprises we’ve had recently. These are three salty snacks, of course, based on lentil flour instead of wheat flour. All three are crunchy and fun to eat, with a difference in flavors – cheddar, Halpinio pepper and lime or sour cream and onion. Each of the flavors is clear and prominent, and it blends well with the flavor of the flour used in this series of products. Not everyone will necessarily like the unique taste of the series, but we enjoyed every bite.

Up to NIS 10.9 per 80 grams. available in the marketing networks.

Barn: airy Bamba

The company’s new bamba is not a bamba with different fillings or combinations, and its shape has not changed either. The change this time is in the texture – it is airy, that is, less dense compared to the usual bamba. As old bamba gluttons, we never said to ourselves ‘the bamba is dense, I wish it was lighter’, but after eating the new one, we realized how much fun it is to eat the bamba when it is airier. And since the weight is the same, there are more Bamba units in the package, which is another plus.

Up to NIS 7.9 for 60/80 grams. available at the points of sale.

Lindemans: Lindemans aud Goose

The vineyard company started marketing a special edition of the Belgian beer Oud Goose. It is a mixture of 4-year-old lambic and young lambic, both fermented in oak barrels and then another 12 months in bottles. The result is a beer with 8% alcohol, dry and with a complex and special taste, in which you can recognize oak, citrus and vanilla with an aroma of cherries and cranberries.

NIS 100 for 750 ml. Available at select alcohol stores.
