Sevilla’s path in the Europa League could not be explained without the presence of En-Nesyri in the front. The Moroccan striker returned as another World Cup player, more similar to what he showed in his first seasons in Seville.

En-Nesyri has scored three goals in Sevilla’s last three European games and caused one more at Old Trafford against Manchester United, although it was Maguire who ended up putting the ball into the goal. It was a header that went wide, but ended up serving Sevilla to tie at two in the first leg of that tie. He solved it later in the Sánchez Pizjuán with two goals from En-Nesyriwhich ended up leading his team to the semifinal.

And in Turin the tie could have been almost resolved again with a goal from En-Nesyri if it hadn’t been for that draw by Juventinos at the last moment.

The Moroccan he solved with his right foot, the bad one a pass from Ocampos that culminated a great play which had started with a pass from Oliver Torres.

It may not be a coincidence either that En-Nesyri’s resurrection coincided with Ocampos’s return to Seville in January after spending the first part of the season on loan at Ajax.

En-Nesyri has 17 goals this season, but he had only scored two before going to the World Cup to make history with Morocco, the first African team to reach the semifinals of a World Cup. Thanks, in large part, to his goals. Especially the one who scored against Portugal in the quarterfinals. Both goals had been scored in the Champions League. It had not been released in the League before going to Qatar, but everything changed after that experience. En-Nesyri scores and Sevilla’s change almost explains itself.
