This is the manor in Acireale where various parts of the third episode were shot

An architectural jewel that has become part of the dimension of international cinema for sale in Acireale, a Baroque city bathed by the Ionian Sea. This is the castle, in the Etna area, built at the end of the 19th century by Prince Agostino Pennisi of Floristella, a manor rich in history and anecdotes. It is above all known worldwide for being used as the set of famous scenes in the film “The Godfather – Part III” by director Francis Ford Coppola, starring Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Andy Garcia and Sofia Coppola. The late Gothic castle was also the set of “A beautiful November” by Mauro Bolognini with Gina Lollobrigida, and some scenes of the cinematographic comedy “Malizia” which consecrated the actress Laura Antonelli were shot.

It has withstood earthquakes and bombings

In its function as a private residence, it was put on the market by Italy Sotheby’s International Realty with an estimated price of 6 million euros. It is a suggestive place on an architectural, pictorial and environmental level. In fact, there is also a park of 8500 square meters which is a treasure chest of the richness of the flora of the places. The complex structured by three connected buildings placed on two levels, with two rectangular towers in a symmetrical position; on the sides of the towers there are two bodies at a single elevation, in a medieval style of Norman inspiration. It resisted not only the earthquake of 1908 but also the bombings of the Second World War by the British (it had been used by the Germans as a logistic center as well as a representative). People such as Rommel and Von Ribbentrop have also stayed in the castle. But it was the cinema, and in particular the film “The Godfather – Part Three”, that made it known globally.
