Caterina Murino enchants photographers and cameramen in front of the beach of the Excelsior hotel. The godmother of the 80th Venice Film Festival arrived in the city on Tuesday in view of the opening ceremony of the event, on Wednesday 30 August, in the Sala Grande of the Palazzo del Cinema on the Venice Lido.
«My first message is very simple: we must wish cinema a long life, because cinema makes us dream. And the hope is that young people understand the importance of cultivating a passion for cinema »said Murino upon his arrival. «It’s a great honor for me to be the godmother of Venice 80. I never thought I’d be the godmother. Usually emerging actresses are chosen, this year they wanted an old lady like me. I will try to live up to expectations and not make ducks during my speeches. This is a once in a lifetime experience. I hope I’m up to the task.”
