American singer Tony Bennett died this Friday, July 21, in New York at the age of 96, years after his family informed the world that he had Alzheimer’s.

Throughout his extensive career, he recorded hundreds of duets with renowned talents from around the world, including Spanish-speaking, including Venezuelan singer-songwriter Franco De Vita.
Acclaimed by worldwide critics, Bennett was active on stage until 2021 when he was diagnosed with the progressive disease that affects memory and other mental functions.
In 2014 she met the Venezuelan composer and singer Franco De Vita with whom she teamed up to record The Good Life.
In the official video they show the previous conversation they had in the studio.
-For me it is a beautiful song. I think I understood the idea of the song and it’s not far from what I sing in Spanish, said Franco De Vita, interpreter of Solo Importas tú, and many other hits.
At the director’s insistence, Franco insisted:
-If I don’t like it I don’t sing it, I couldn’t do it, and when the others laugh, he adds: -Sorry about that, I ruined it.
Master Bennett responds with a pat on the back: – I’m the same, and they both laugh.
The Good Life, as its name indicates, talks about the good life, the fun that “lets you hide the sadness you bring” and invites you to be honest, without pretending, because one day you wake up from the good life.
“Very shocked to learn of Tony Bennett’s death. I only met him for one day but it seemed like I had known him for a lifetime. He was one of those people that it doesn’t take long to love them. Its a big lost. My condolences to the family and friends. Apart from a great crooner, we have lost a great human being. How lucky I am to have met him!”
