Large reserves of oil and gas have been found in the Chand Nah Seven well in the Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) said in a letter sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange that 305 barrels of crude oil were produced from the Chandna well per day. Oil reserves have been found, 2.5 million cubic tons of gas reserves have also been found from the Chandna well, while 3 metric tons of LPG will also be obtained from the well.
According to the text of the letter, the well has been connected to the plant through a 1.3 km flowline and the supply of gas from the new reservoir to the Sui Northern Gas Company has also started.
The letter further states that there was another important development in the Hyderabad district of Sindh, with the installation of modern pumps at Kunar 8 wells in Sindh, production of 540 barrels of crude oil per day has started, on the one hand, new oil and gas in Pakistan. On the other hand, the huge reduction in the prices of petroleum products in the global market will reduce the burden of expensive petrol on Pakistanis.
