The government has allocated 305.6 million rubles to the Gamaleya Research Center to conduct clinical trials of a coronavirus vaccine for children aged 6-11, such an order is published on the publication.pravo.gov.ru portal.

During the trials, the developers will evaluate the safety, tolerability and immunogenicity of the Sputnik M vaccine on 1,100 volunteers. The Ministry of Health authorized such tests on January 24.

The vaccine “Sputnik M” for children aged 12-17, developed by the center. Gamalei, was registered on December 24 last year. On the same day, the first two batches of the drug were released into civilian circulation. The effectiveness of the drug was about 93%. The vaccine has arrived in several regions of Russia, and a vaccination campaign has begun in St. Petersburg and the Moscow region.

According to the developers, chills, muscle and joint pain, fatigue, headache, soreness at the injection site may appear on the first or second day after vaccination, and the temperature may rise no higher than 38.5 degrees. Such phenomena pass in two or three days.
