Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the creation of an innovative scientific and technological center (STC) “Quantum Valley” in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the press service of the Russian government reports. It is planned to finance the construction of the center from the regional budget and extra-budgetary funds.
“On the basis of the new innovative scientific and technological center, it is planned to develop modern digital technologies, including quantum technologies and artificial intelligence,” the press service said in a statement.
The center’s activities will also include the creation of innovative industries, intelligent transport systems, the implementation of projects in the field of high-tech personalized medicine and medical instrumentation, solving problems in the field of ecology and eliminating accumulated damage.
Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin commented on the construction of the “Kommersant-Volga Region” center. “Implementation of such a large-scale project in science is a great responsibility for us. The regional government, the Nizhny Novgorod Scientific and Educational Center and educational organizations have already agreed to consolidate efforts to implement this project, ”said Mr. Nikitin.
10 land plots will be used for the construction of Quantum Valley, and five main clusters will be formed in the structure.
