The government authority for consumer protection and trade is increasing the supervision of online trade websites. An announcement was made today that it intends to impose a fine of NIS 1,823,988 on Y. Maor Finance Ltd. for misleading consumers regarding the delivery date of the products, failure to disclose full details of the transaction, failure to cancel the transaction on time and failure to return the money to the consumer on the date specified by law. Many orders were not delivered on the promised date, and consumers who asked to cancel the transaction were not answered – the company did not cancel the transactions as required by law and did not return the consumers’ money.
