In this sense, the Executive has carried out several projects aimed at integrating the Amazigh language, particularly at the level of public administrations and in education, welcomed Mr. Akhannouch in a statement to the press on the sidelines of his participation in a ceremony celebrating the Amazigh New Year 2975.

The Head of Government also expressed his deep gratitude to HM King Mohammed VI who decided to establish January 14, corresponding to the first day of the Amazigh year, as an official public holiday in Morocco, within the framework of the constitutional consecration of Amazigh.

The celebration of the Amazigh New Year is an opportunity to highlight a cultural heritage carried by all Moroccans, continued Mr. Akhannouch.

During this ceremony which took place in the presence of the Secretary of State to the Minister of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, in charge of Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy Lahcen Essaadi, the wali of the Souss-Massa region, governor of the prefecture of Agadir Ida-Outanane, Said Amzazi, and the president of the Council of the region Souss-Massa, Karim Achengli, Mr. Akhannouch visited exhibitions of craft cooperatives and local products at Ibn Zaydoun Park, highlighting the works of artisans.

At the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella site, a tasting area for Amazigh dishes has been set up, in addition to the organization of music shows hosted by stars of Amazigh song.

Thus, a rich and varied program of entertainment and activities was concocted by the municipality of Agadir for the celebration of the Amazigh New Year (Id Yennayer 2975).

This celebration, which will continue until the 17th, is a continuation of the Royal decision announced by the Sovereign to establish January 14, corresponding to the first day of the Amazigh year, as an official public holiday in Morocco.

The program of festivities launched on March 10, covers 12 places in the city, including public squares, gardens and the promenade of Anza and Agadir, with the aim of offering the inhabitants of the capital of Souss and its visitors an exceptional opportunity to enjoy activities and events in a festive atmosphere.

Organized in partnership with the Souss Massa Regional Council, the Souss Massa Regional Tourism Council and the “Timitar” Festival Association, the “Id Yennayer 2975” event aims to promote Amazigh culture as a fundamental element of Moroccan identity and to consolidate the values ​​of coexistence and cultural openness.
