The Government Council adopts a draft decree on scholarships for boarding schools and school canteens
Rabat – The Government Council adopted, Thursday in Rabat, a draft decree on the determination of the types and amounts of scholarships for boarding schools and school canteens in public education and teaching establishments, as well as the conditions for benefiting from them, presented by the Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa.
This is draft decree No. 2.24.475 amending and supplementing decree No. 2.19.333 of 5 Dou Al-Hijja 1440 (August 7, 2019) defining the types and amounts of scholarships for boarding schools and school canteens in public education and teaching establishments, as well as the conditions for benefiting from them, said government spokesperson Mustapha Baitas during a press briefing following the Council.
This project is part of government guidelines aimed at improving the mechanisms for targeting families to benefit from the social assistance program, through the obligation to register in the unified social register created in accordance with Law No. 72.18 and in application of the 2022-2026 roadmap, in particular measures relating to the revision and clarification of the targeting criteria for beneficiaries of the social assistance program, as well as the need to modernize the infrastructure of boarding schools and canteens.
And to add that this draft decree aims to revise the mechanisms relating to the targeting of beneficiaries of school scholarships for boarding schools and canteens of public education and teaching establishments, and to strengthen the good management of catering services by adopting the delegated management system at the level of all regional academies of education and training, while increasing the amounts of school scholarships for boarding schools and school canteens.
