The Government Council adopts a draft decree supplementing the implementing decree of the law relating to basic AMO

Rabat – The Government Council, meeting on Thursday under the chairmanship of the head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, adopted draft decree No. 2.23.866 supplementing decree No. 2.22.797 (November 29, 2022), implementing law No. 65.00 relating to basic compulsory health insurance (AMO) for persons unable to meet the contribution costs.

This project aims to overcome the difficulties related to the implementation of the basic AMO for people unable to meet the contribution costs, in particular those relating to the interpretation of article 2 of decree 2.22.797, indicated the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing following the Council.

In this context, the minister explained that the project aims to clarify the criteria for benefiting from the basic AMO scheme, stressing that beneficiaries must not be part of any compulsory health insurance scheme, either as principal insured persons or as beneficiaries, in order to remove any ambiguity in this regard.
