The Government Gazette publishes the announcement of the Ministry of Public Health, name and important symptoms of communicable diseases that must be monitored.

Whereas it is expedient to declare chickenpox or Monkeypox as a communicable disease that must be monitored under the Communicable Diseases Act B.E. 2558 (2015) for the purpose of surveillance, prevention and control of communicable diseases

By virtue of Section 5 paragraph one and Section 6 (1) of the Communicable Diseases Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the Minister of Public Health with the advice of the National Communicable Disease Committee therefore issued an announcement as follows:

Article 1 This announcement is called “Notification of the Ministry of Public Health Re: Names and Signs of Communicable Diseases to Be Watched Out (No. 2), B.E.

Clause 2. This Notification shall come into force from the day following the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.

Article 3 Add the following as (56) of Article 4 of the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health Re: Names and Significant Symptoms of Communicable Diseases to Watch Out for, B.E. 2019

“(56) Smallpox or Monkeypox with fever, headache, swollen lymph nodes, sore throat, rash or blister on the skin that looks like blisters or pustules. which may occur in the head Body, genitals and around the anus, arms or legs, some blisters may form on the palms or soles of the feet.”
