The government has approved a plan to absorb immigration from Ukraine that includes preparations for housing solutions

The government approved the plan formulated by the Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, and the Ministers of Immigration and Absorption, Finance, Interior, Construction and Housing and Development of the Periphery, the Negev and the Galilee, for the absorption of immigrants from Ukraine, Russia and the region.

The main points of the plan: Preparing for short-term housing solutions, including rent assistance, renovating buildings owned by the Ministry of Construction and Housing and making them available to immigrants, locating available housing for the benefit of the forests for the possibility of a shortage of housing solutions. In the medium term – locating complexes for temporary residence, preparing to increase the stock of mobile housing and establishing it without a permit, and examining the possibility of determining the split of apartments in favor of immigrant housing. In the long term, witnesses will be examined in favor of increasing the supply in the housing market, mapping housing barriers in addition, as part of the decision will formulate the municipal needs arising from the absorption challenges.
