(24News) The government has increased the toll tax by giving a New Year’s gift to those traveling on the highway and motorway.
The National Highway Authority has issued a notification to increase the toll tax which will be effective from January 5.
A toll tax of Rs 250 will be collected from 2 and 3 axle trucks and Rs 500 from heavy trucks.

Similarly, the toll tax for a car on the M3 from Lahore to Abdul Hakeem has been increased from Rs 650 to Rs 700 and the toll tax for a car on the M4 from Pindi Bhatian to Faisalabad and Multan has been increased from Rs 850 to Rs 950.
The car toll tax on M5 from Multan to Sukkur has been increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,100 and the toll tax on DG Khan to Hakla Motorway M Choda has been increased to Rs 600. Hasan Abdal, Haveliyan, Mansehra E35 toll tax Rs.250 to be paid.
The toll tax for large vehicles on M1, M3, M4, M5, M14 and E35 motorways has been increased from Rs 750 to Rs 5550.
