During the press briefing following the weekly meeting of the Government Council, Mr. Baitas emphasized that the project represents a “constitutional commitment” of the Kingdom, undertaken at the direct instruction of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He noted that the government is working towards its gradual implementation.
In this context, he recalled the official launch of various projects aimed at strengthening the use of the Amazigh language in public administrations and its integration across various aspects of public life.
To facilitate access to public services, the Amazigh language reception service has been established in several public administrations. This involves the mobilization of 460 reception agents who provide guidance and advice to Amazigh-speaking users. Additionally, the Amazigh language has been included on road signs within administrations and public establishments.
Furthermore, a telephone call reception service in the Amazigh language has been set up in nine call centers under certain ministerial departments and public establishments with a high volume of users. This initiative involves the mobilization of 63 agents responsible for telephone communication in the Amazigh language.
The Government Council also approved two draft decrees establishing the list of paid public holidays and non-working public holidays, as part of the implementation of the High Royal Instructions to declare the Amazigh New Year (January 14) as an official paid national holiday.
