“What the government wants to do is hijack the conversation,” affirmed the rebellious deputy Alexis Corbière on Tuesday May 2 on franceinfo, the day after a day of parades on May 1st punctuated by violence and clashes between demonstrators and the police. For the Unsubmissive, “there is a certain ministerial gluttony in finding a subject” in the violence “in the aftermath of a powerful demonstration”.

Alexis Corbière recalls that violence against the police is “unacceptable”. “I am as shocked to see a police officer who catches fire as to see a 17-year-old girl whose eye may have been gouged out”, he continues. The deputy complains “a political maneuver” to make believe that there is a link between the opponents of the pension reform, of which La France insoumise is a part, and “the ultra-minority violence that we saw yesterday”.

The mobilization against the reform continues

An inter-Nupes seminar takes place on Wednesday to develop “a whole series of actions that maintain mobilization” until June 6, the date of the next day of mobilization against the pension reform, explains Alexis Corbière. Another deadline: June 8 for the parliamentary niche of the Liot group (Freedoms, Independents, Overseas and Territories). Its deputies will present a text to withdraw the pension reform. They will be supported by all the deputies of Nupes. “It’s doable”according to Alexis Corbière.
