The Russian government will send 43.5 billion rubles. for the construction of new schools in the regions. These funds will be allocated “in the coming years”, the corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
According to a government press release, the money for the construction has already been included in the federal budget. Of the mentioned amount, 21 billion rubles. will be sent in 2021, the rest – in the next two years.
By the end of 2024, at least 1.3 thousand new schools should be built in Russian regions. It is planned to attract investors and “socially oriented business” to this work, the government added.
President Vladimir Putin spoke about plans to build new schools in the country during a direct line on June 30. He said that there are about 40 thousand schools in Russia, some of which are already in disrepair. As the President specified, 60% of schools are in need of repair, 10% – in major repairs.
