He Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ), the oldest event specializing in soundtracks in the world, concludes its 17th edition this weekend with two long-awaited musical shows dedicated to the universe of comic book heroes and villains and their adaptations to film and television. The fabulous Tyler Batescomposer of the scores for 300 o Guardians of the Galaxyy Lolita Ritmanisauthor of the music for animated films Batman: The Killing Joke o The Justice Leagueare already in the Canary Islands to participate in the original programs Excelsior: The Stan Lee Legacy y Gods and Detectiveswhich will take place in the Tenerife Auditorium and will be performed by the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, the Tenerife Film Choir and the Polyphonic Choir of the University of La Laguna.

This Friday, July 14, at 8:00 p.m., the concert will take place ‘Excelsior: The Legacy of Stan Lee’a journey through the great soundtracks of the legendary comic book publisher Marvel made into movies and television. It will be an original and unique recital, in which numerous pieces will be performed for the first time worldwide, such as the music from the film The curse of the werewolf (Werewolf by Night), made of Michael Giacchino, also director of the film, expressly prepared for this concert. The iconic sheet music Danny Elfman For the movie Spider-man of Sam Raimi and its sequel; The incredible Hulk, X- Men, Black Panther, The Avengers, Captain America the First Avenger o Guardians of the Galaxyamong others, will also delight the audience.
The concert will be performed by the guest conductor Salvador Vazquez and will have the participation of Tyler Batesregular collaborator of James Gunn y Zack Snyder. They will also participate as solo voices Lola y Sami Batesas well as the drummer Greg Elliswhose performances have been featured on more than 200 film, television, and video game soundtracks, including 300, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy o Assassin’s Creed. The finishing touch to this edition of FIMUCITÉ will be on Saturday, July 15, starting at 7:30 p.m., the concert ‘Gods and Detectives’around the adaptations of DC Comics, under the direction of the teacher Diego Navarrocomposer and conductor specializing in film music and founder of FIMUCITÉ.
The program covers the scores that have accompanied superheroes like Superman and Batman, villains like the Joker, and other characters from the noir genre, such as Dick Tracy o The Raven. It is worth mentioning in this concert the interpretation of the music of The Batmande Michael Giacchino, and the suite of the legendary film 300by Tyler Bates. Other titles will also sound like The Man of Steel, Superman o Rocketeer.
In addition, the world premiere of the score of Batman: The Killing Jokewith the presence of its author Lolita Ritmaniswho returns to the Festival accompanied by Michael McCuistion y Kristopher Carterwith whom he has written the music for numerous Marvel and DC animated films, such as Batman Beyondunder the Dynamic Music Partners label.
Tyler Bates, Lola and Sami Bates and Greg Ellis will once again take the stage, as well as the invited soloists from the Canary Islands, Fran León and Esther Ovejero.

At the beginning of this Friday’s concert, the official presentation of the VI Music Awards for Spanish Audiovisuals will also take place, which FIMUCITÉ has hosted since the founding of these awards granted by the Association of Music Composers for Audiovisuals MUSIMAGEN. During the ceremony, a suite dedicated to the winning works will sound and the attending authors will collect the awards.
