When the Greek Cypriot Interior Minister was asked whether there was any development regarding the sale of three hotels in Maraş to Turkish Cypriot business people, he answered negatively that no purchase and sale document was submitted to the Greek Cypriot Land Registry Office, the approval of the Ministry was not requested for such a thing, and the Ministry also took a private law action. He said he was not authorized to give consent.
“In this case, the authenticity of the signatures of the signers, not the content, was confirmed,” said the Greek Cypriot Interior Minister Konstantinos Yoannu.
“This is a development that concerns us and we are in contact with our Legal Counsel and the Attorney General on how to address these issues,” Yoannu said.
Yoannu noted that they knew who the Greek Cypriot owners were, adding that they did not know who was buying the hotels.
