In Greece, the flames have been raging for just over two weeks in the north of the country, near the land border with Turkey. In this wooded area, some 90,000 hectares of vegetation have already vanished in what is now “the largest fire ever recorded” in Europe. The size of the fire has been reduced considerably compared to previous days, but it has not yet been extinguished.
