Green Party Proposes New Mouthpieces for Election Committee

The Green Party’s election committee has unveiled its proposals for new mouthpieces, with Member of Parliament Daniel Helldén set to replace Per Bolund. The announcement was made on Friday morning, with the committee emphasizing the strong political experience and synergy between Helldén and Märta Stenevi, who is proposed to be re-elected as spokesperson.

Louise Arndt, the chairman of the election committee, expressed confidence in the chosen candidates during a press conference. “Daniel and Märta have broad political experience with them and together they can strengthen politics,” said Arndt. She also highlighted the importance of a smooth transition and ensuring a positive future for everyone in Sweden.

Daniel Helldén, delighted at the prospect of taking on the role, stressed the need for unity within the Green Party. “If we don’t take care of the transition, no one else will. We must also make sure that everyone feels that there is a good future ahead for everyone in Sweden. I look forward to being together with Märta and representing Sweden’s most important party,” said Helldén.

Meanwhile, Märta Stenevi expressed her pride at being recommended by the election committee and affirmed her commitment to continue leading. “I am very proud to have been suggested by the election committee to continue leading, and I will continue to do so,” said Stenevi.

However, recent reports suggest some tension between Stenevi and Helldén. A news outlet reported that Stenevi opposed Helldén’s election and skipped a planned press meeting with him. Stenevi refuted these claims, explaining that she had to go home for family reasons. Helldén, on the other hand, remains optimistic about their collaboration, citing their long history of working together.

The final decisions regarding the election committee’s proposal will be made during the Green Party’s congress in November. Until then, the proposed changes in the mouthpieces reflect the party’s efforts to chart a new path forward and strengthen their position in Swedish politics.
