Tesni Khan says Pratap Pothan was her mentor in acting career. Tesni Khan said that saying goodbye to the director of the first film is a painful experience for any actor.
“This one day is very sad for me. Daisy is the film that marked my debut in Malayalam cinema. Released in 1988, this film was directed by Pratap Pothan. My first director. It was my teacher who taught me the first lessons of acting. Thomson Babu and Pratap Pothen pick me for the Dice. So I became a part of Malayalam cinema.
After 25 years I did a film with sir again and became his daughter-in-law. And I didn’t get a chance to meet him. It is a painful experience for anyone to be told by the director of our first film to leave us. It is with father, mother and guru that we meet our first director. The first director is the person who tells us what the film is and how to act. That is my guru. This is a sadness that I will never forget. On this occasion, I pray for the soul of Sir. I pray that God may bless your soul to heaven.” – Tesni Khan said.
