Former Minister Miri Regev of the Likud was interviewed this evening (Saturday night) on the program ‘Meet the Press’ on News 12, and stated that contrary to the policy promoted by the Minister of Transportation Merav Michaeli – “the light rail will not work on Saturday”.
At the end of her performance, Regev gave a gift to presenter Ben Caspit and teased him: “Netanyahu is back in a big way.”
Personally, I will not forgive Itamar Ben Gvir for making me believe that you will be the responsible adult of the upcoming coalition.
“You can’t stand that Bibi won. You are all sour in the studio party, which sat, engineered the mind for months and the public is wise and has spoken. The responsible adult is Netanyahu, whom you eulogized.”
Doesn’t it worry you that you are a leftist along with Netanyahu?
“I am not a leftist, I have never been a leftist, Netanyahu is not a leftist. I was worried that the last government could not do anything without Ra’am and they sat and waited what would happen to Balad. Ben Gabir loves the State of Israel, he is a Zionist, and we have a serious and responsible person leading the system and he is Netanyahu. We were in power for 12 years together with Shas and religious Zionism, and now it’s a calming siren.”
Could it be that one of the reasons for the panic is less the actions and more the style? Could it be that you should promote reforms and less defy the other side?
“We do, and not only do but we did. In contrast to the last government that did nothing but depend on Abbas, deliver agreements to the Islamic movement and surrender agreements with Hezbollah, attacks, cost of living. We have done for 12 years, we need to do more, we are going back to reduce the same things and bring back national pride and governance.”
You talked about a government that depends on Abbas, but it calmed Gaza down almost completely, you lost control for 12 years, and it attacked in Iran.
“Do you believe what you say? Everything that has been done here in the last year… attack follows attack. This is a government that surrendered to terrorism, made an agreement with a terrorist organization – with Hezbollah.”
Are you going to cancel the gas agreement?
“Netanyahu said, we will do what we have to do, just like we handled the bad agreements in the past left to us by the left. We are coming back to rule. This is a slouching government that brought us terrorism. We will do what is right to do as Netanyahu handled bad previous agreements. For 12 years there was economic power, security power, we made peace, we did not bring up the Palestinian issue. You’re obsessed with Bibi, so you don’t see it.”
What bag do you want? There are almost no women in the coalition.
“I have no doubt that I will be a senior minister, not currently involved in distributing cases. I am not part of any organization. Everything that is said that there are organizations, they say about my uncle – he issued a denial, all this attempt to insert swords into the Likud, we are responsible and want a stable government and understand what is at stake. The entire right-wing bloc understands, and that’s why Netanyahu, I believe, will form a good government within two weeks.”
Are you interested in the education portfolio?
“It is absolutely clear to me that I will be a senior minister. I made revolutions, I made reforms. I’m in favor of the overcoming clause, we don’t know if there’s going to be one. Some of the reforms will have nothing on Netanyahu’s sewn bags, which are falling and collapsing over time anyway. Don’t stress, be calm, we are coming to govern and restore national pride and personal security.”
Shouldn’t an escalation clause be in more difficult conditions?
“I was the chairman of the interior committee. 4 times we passed the immigration law and entry into Israel and the High Court intervened. He makes mistakes by meddling time and time again in those issues that should not be meddled in.”
The question is whether 61 or 67 for the overcoming paragraph.
“I think 61 is enough. The dictatorship that was in the last government has no equal. They didn’t count the legal adviser they appointed, they didn’t count the Knesset’s legal adviser. Everyone was silent. The redhead from the movement for the quality of government also fell asleep. I suggest everyone to relax, we are coming to do good for Israeli society.”
Will there be a violation of LGBT rights?

Will the light rail operate on Saturday?
“Marav Michaeli is not relevant. I’m sure that Rabin himself would not have chosen the job, she destroyed the job. The light rail will not work on Saturday.”
