Hapoel Haifa fans are attacked in Bulgaria (ONE system)
The violence between Hapoel Haifa and Maccabi Haifa fans also reached Bulgaria. Just before the meeting of the basketball team of Hapoel Haifa against the Bulgarian Cataya, the red fans were attacked twice inside, apparently by the green fans.
The goal was allegedly to harm a Hapoel Haifa fan, who is suspected of burning the Maccabi Haifa flags, and received permission to go to Bulgaria. According to the evidence, he was apparently injured during the riots.
The first case was recorded when leaving the hotel in Sofia, when 10 Israelis attacked the Hapoel Haifa fans who were heading for the game. The rioters lit a flare, which even hit one of the fans who was slightly injured.
Afterwards, at the entrance to the hall in Smokov, the Reds’ bus was pelted with stones and the windshield was broken. When the fans got off the bus, there was a big commotion and an exchange of blows between the parties. The local police intervened and arrested three of the attackers, apparently Maccabi Haifa fans, with another detainee identified as a Hapoel Haifa fan.
