jpnn.comJAKARTA – Chairman of the Legal Team for Candidate Pair for Regent and Deputy Regent of Mandailing Natal (Madina) Serial Number 1, Harun Mustafa Nasution and Ichwan Husein Nasution, Salman Alfarisi Simanjuntak, expressed his concern regarding the circulation of oblique news on social media, especially those originating from the Madina Bbir account on Facebook.

This news, according to Salman, could damage the integrity of the Constitutional Court (MK) and cause unrest among the people of Mandailing Natal.

Salman explained that one of the posts from Madina Bbir’s account mentioned an alleged meeting between one of the parties to the case at the Constitutional Court and a constitutional judge.

He considered this statement very disturbing, because it could affect public perceptions of the objectivity and integrity of the Constitutional Court in handling election disputes.

“We, as litigants at the Constitutional Court, ask the Constitutional Court’s Public Relations to provide clarification or a firm statement regarding this post, so that the public does not fall for misleading information,” said Salman at the same time as making clarifications to the Constitutional Court, in the courtyard of the Constitutional Court Building. (MK), Jakarta, on Monday (6/1).

Nevertheless, Salman believes that the Constitutional Court still has integrity and objectivity in handling regional election disputes. However, he emphasized the importance of official clarification from the Constitutional Court. In fact, if the news is true, Salman is asking for equal treatment for all parties.

“This is done to ensure justice and equal treatment in the trial process at the Constitutional Court (access to justice). We want the same access as the parties mentioned in the Madina Bbir account post,” stressed Salman.

On this occasion, Salman also responded to another statement circulating in the upload, which stated that litigating at the Constitutional Court allegedly required money. According to him, this statement could damage the MK’s image in the eyes of the public, especially if it is not immediately refuted by the authorities.
