The Modi government at the Center continuously works on new technology, so that the users do not face any kind of problem. For this, an electronic toll collection system was introduced by Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, in which payment was made through Fastag at the toll plaza. This system used to take less time than before, but now a new system is being introduced by Nitin Gadkari, in which the work of both toll plaza and Fastag will be finished. The new toll collection will be satellite based, as the name suggests. This will be an automatic system, in which money will be deducted from your account automatically. In this you will not have to get a separate Fastag and recharge it. This will provide relief from traffic jams at toll plazas.

How will the new system work?
The entry of your vehicle will be recorded at an entry point in the satellite toll collection system. After this, as many km as you can. If you travel on the highway, money will be deducted from your online account due to satellite connectivity.

When will it be launched?
At present, the deadline for when the new satellite based toll collection system will be started has not been released. Earlier in December, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had said that a new toll collection system will be introduced by the National Authority of India i.e. NHAI, which can be started by March 2023.

What is FasTag collection? Fastag is also an online payment system, which works on Radio Frequency Identification i.e. RFID technology. However, even in this system, there is a lot of jam at toll plazas. Also, sometimes there is difficulty in reading the barcode during online payment. In such a situation, a new hi-tech toll collection system is being introduced by Nitin Gadkari.
