The Head of State said that the moralization session for the native leaders of the new province of Gitega is organized to discuss the different aspects of the country’s development. He called on the authorities to change their mentality and to be good leaders.
The Burundian number 1 asked the leaders of the new province of Gitega to fight corruption, ensure the good management of public property and be examples in the development of development projects for the population, in order to quickly reach the 2040-2060 vision.
On the eve of the general elections, President Evariste Ndayishimiye urged leaders to put forward competent leaders, regardless of their political affiliation, with a view to towing Burundi towards the 2040-2060 vision.
The President of the Republic Evariste Ndayishimiye said that he is happy because the shortage of petroleum products is under control for the moment. However, he deplored the behavior of some transporters who want to complicate the situation for speculation, by increasing transport rates. For the Head of State, Burundi can in no way achieve sustainable development as long as there is a group of Burundians who do not want there to be tranquility in the country, by disrupting any effort made by the Government for the economic stability of the nation.
During this moralization session, the President of the Republic Evariste Ndayishimiye took advantage of this opportunity to explain why the Government thought about reducing the number of provinces. He said that the objective is to allow the population to benefit equitably from public wealth and have easy access to public services.
Regarding the environment, Head of State Evariste Ndayishimiye indicated that if the environment is not protected, the country is threatened by various natural disasters. He recommended that the authorities raise awareness among the population about environmental protection by drawing contour lines and, in cities, by building wells in plots.
