“The Head of State is looking for more efficiency with regard to cooperation, particularly in its economic aspect”. This was noted by government spokesperson Wilfried Léandre Houngbédji on Friday April 14, 2023 during his meeting with the press. For Wilfried Léandre Houngbédji, the cooperation dimension leads to funding agreements and discussions on funding. This is why President Patrice Talon has chosen to entrust the cooperation component to the Minister of State for the Economy and Finance so that he is “even more involved than in the past”. He goes on to say that there will be more coherence and efficiency in the action of his government. It should be noted that this technical reorganization of the government was carried out by President Talon on April 5, 2023. From this reorganization, cooperation was withdrawn from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and entrusted to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
