The President of the Republic, Head of State, HE. Mohamed Bazoum received yesterday morning in audience, the Vice-President of the ECOWAS Commission, Mrs. Damtien L. Tchintchibidja. On leaving the hearing, Ms. Damtien said that she had come to report to President Mohamed Bazoum on the activities that ECOWAS is carrying out in Niger as a regional institution. This opportunity was used to discuss the challenges facing the sub-region; of the ECOWAS initiative to create national early warning centers in each of the Member States, including that of Niger created in March 2022, which is operational and very efficient. The exchanges also focused on the conclusions of the session of the orientation and monitoring committee of the National Early Warning Mechanism that it held last Tuesday with the Prime Minister, Head of Government concerning the monitoring of early warning. in order to evaluate the functioning of the center and on the development project for regional stabilization.
