Jorge Fabra Portela, until now the head of the management of European funds in the Ministry of Finance, has presented his resignation. This is the second general director to resign from this position in the last year and a half, as Fabra Portela assumed the position to replace Rocío Frutos, who also resigned.
The Council of Ministers has appointed José Ángel Alonso Jiménez as general director of the Recovery and Resilience Plan and Mechanism, who becomes responsible for the European funds that arrive in Spain at a time when the fourth disbursement of 10,000 million euros.
Alonso Jiménez, until now Deputy Director General of Information Systems of European Funds, thus replaces Jorge Fabra Portela, who held the position since October 2022 and whose resignation occurred at his own request.
The new general director is a Telecommunications engineer, belongs to the Higher Corps of Information Systems and Technologies of the State Administration and since 2021 he has been assigned to the Technical General Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance.
