Ankara believes that the Syrian National Army will be able to regain control over the entire territory of the country.
According to Day.Az, this was stated by Turkish Minister of National Defense Yashar Guler during his visit to the Kilis province bordering Syria.
According to Güler, ensuring the sovereignty and integrity of Syria is critical to Turkey’s security. He recalled the numerous rocket and mortar attacks on Turkey’s border areas that have occurred since 2011, resulting in more than 600 Turkish citizens killed and more than a thousand injured.
The minister also emphasized that the Turkish Armed Forces were the only ones in the world who actively opposed Daesh terrorists in Syria, noting that 67 Turkish soldiers were killed during the operations.
Guler added that against the backdrop of changes in Syria, a new stage in the country’s development has begun. The Syrian National Army, he said, continues to clear terrorists from various areas such as Tall Rifat and Munbich, and Turkey believes that the fight against terrorists will continue until the country is completely liberated.
The Turkish minister also emphasized the importance of cooperation with allies to ensure long-term peace and maintain stability in the region, and also stated that one of Turkey’s goals is to eliminate the YPG terrorist organization, which continues to control certain areas of Syria.
