Rytas has become a next-level beast in the Jeep arena. The arena with a capacity of 2,500 people from Vilnius became a real hell after all the rivals and the team from the capital returned to 10,000. the Twinsbet arena, which accommodates spectators, there was a question whether they would be able to play successfully on this field as well.
The return was successful. Having tamed the bigger arena, Giedrias Žibėnas’ students became champions of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). However, as the new season approaches, it is still not clear whether the Twinsbet arena will accommodate two teams from the capital.
The big arena is controlled by one of the fiercest enemies of Rytas – Wolves, and the LKL champions are trying to claim the best possible conditions for themselves, not forgetting the scenario that Rytas might not play a home match at the Twinsbet Arena.
Speaking about negotiations with another club in the capital, Wolves Twinsbet manager Andrius Žiauberis said that this year Ryts was offered even better conditions than last season, but Wolves’ neighbors are not satisfied even with that.
“The negotiations are not closed yet. I want to emphasize the fact that we offered “Ryta” better conditions than they had last season, not even considering the fact that inflation is growing in both the Lithuanian and European economies. Inflation in the entertainment sector is on the rise, the minimum wage is on the rise. Despite the fact that all services are becoming more expensive, we offered “Ryts” better conditions than they had.
Negotiations are such a thing that they have to resist at some point, and “Rytas” itself understands by what day it can provide an answer”, said A. Žiauberis during the presentation of the team.
