The Carlo Bilotti Museum, under the aegis of the Capitoline Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, becomes the stage for a meeting dedicated to the connection between art and medical therapy. The event, organized by the Bracco Foundation in collaboration with the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS – Gemelli ART, took place as part of the exhibition “Portraits. Women of art and science”. An enlightening discussion on art as a therapeutic tool, on how culture and beauty extend life. “The relationship between well-being and cultural enjoyment is a strategic theme for the Bracco Foundation because it manages to embrace the three areas on which our commitment is concentrated: culture, science and social issues. Numerous studies on the population of different countries have shown that attending concerts, theatres, cinemas and exhibitions increases the perception of one’s well-being and is “good” for the person. In other words, culture improves the quality of life of the individual” said Diana Bracco, President of the Bracco Foundation and President of the Bracco Group, through a video message. The event focused attention on the scientific perspective of the benefits of art in medicine and patient care, presenting the cultural welfare studies developed by the Bracco Foundation since 2011 and the Art4ART Project of the Gemelli Polyclinic, launched in 2019 at the Oncological Radiotherapy Center of the A. Gemelli University Polyclinic Foundation IRCCS – Gemelli ART.
