Four days before the second round of the presidential election, positions are multiplying and the world of health is no exception. All the actors agree, calling for a vote against Marine Le Pen. In a column published on April 16 in Le Sunday newspaper and relayed by the French Hospital Federation (FHF), 1,000 healthcare players are calling “directly to block the far right” and to vote for the outgoing president, Emmanuel Macron, according to them, the “the only vote that allows us to preserve our solidarity”.
For the signatories of the tribune, the far right embodies a “existential threat to our democracy”for the “fundamental values of our republican pact: liberty, equality, fraternity” in particular by questioning “equality before care”. The tribune cites, among other things, Marine Le Pen’s wish to abolish state medical aid (AME) or even her desire to “stigmatising foreign doctors and professionals”.
Among the signatories of the platform, we find Frédéric Valletoux, president of the FHF; Marie-Sophie Desaulle, president of the Federation of solidarity-based private hospital and personal assistance establishments (Fehap); Eric Chenut, president of the Mutualité française; or even the mayor of Reims (Marne) and president of the FHF Grand-Est, Arnaud Robinet (ex-Les Républicains).
“The door open to charlatans”

They persist and sign: “Our vote will first be a fight against exclusion, sectarianism, intolerance, racism and xenophobia, which cannot tolerate any abstention. »
On April 13, the Mutualité française also called for “beat the far right by voting for Emmanuel Macron”calling Marine Le Pen’s party a “peril for our democracy and our social cohesion”. In a press release, the Mutualité française nevertheless urges the next government to “provide an answer” to the “social desperation” the French “to rebuild the bond of trust and fight against democratic renunciation”.
