Karin Bowman, daughter of Judith Bowman, who became the symbol of the fight against anorexia when she brought the disease to the agenda, left a letter she wrote to a Jewish mother who supports her and fights for her daughter’s life throughout the last decade. The touching letter reached us and it reads: “I am a lonely butterfly that swims and breathes, but inside me the sadness is ticking, because this is an uncontrollable disease. Oh, poor mother, what have I done to you. You are locked in a cage with your chick and you do not breathe to allow me to breathe. You feed me, you bathe me And you’re holding me like a broken butterfly and you’re doing everything for me to survive more and more. It hurts so much what you’re going through and I love you so much and want to free you from the cage.”

Judit Bowman told TMI: “My daughter is incredibly charming, such a gentle soul, and even this extreme thinness, as hard as it is to look, does not take away from her inner and graceful beauty. I long to see her under a canopy, bring me grandchildren and I will not give up. I am constantly at war. My heart is full of power and I am not in a cage. I see her all day fighting non-stop and I am grateful to God that I carry everything on my own and for that requires extraordinary skills. I am about one thing, to save my daughter and it doesn’t matter what price I pay.”
