César Román, widely known as the ‘king of the cachopo’, received a 15-year prison sentence last June for the murder of his partner Heidi Paz. The Investigation Team focused its attention on him in a 2018 episode that laSexta aired this Friday.

The ‘king of the cachopo’ enrolled in the Madrid neighborhood institute as the father of a child. In 1996, he was featured in a newspaper clipping in which it was mentioned that he attended classes with fellow 14-year-olds and was considered a leader among the students.

Although he did not stand out as an exemplary student, he managed to become general secretary of a student union affiliated with the far-right Spanish Falange party.

Jorge Garrido, vice-secretary of the Spanish Falange de las Jons, spoke about this in Equipo de Investigación: “César Román was the general secretary of the secondary education union, the Falangist union organization in charge of union activity for high school students.”

“I am not aware that he has completed university studies, one thing is to have an academic training and another is to be intelligent or not. He does not lack intelligence, although on occasions he has lacked a sense of reality to understand the limits,” he added.
