The DMK has alleged that he tried to vote fraudulently at a polling booth in the 49th ward of the Chennai Corporation. Former AIADMK minister Jayakumar has been arrested in connection with a case in which he allegedly assaulted Pramukar Naresh, stripped him of his shirt and tied his hands.
He has since been charged with two counts of obstruction and three counts of embezzlement of a Rs 5 crore fish net factory. Jayakumar is currently lodged in the Pulhal jail. He has filed a petition in the Georgetown court against the DMK for refusing to grant him bail in the case.
In it, the person who complained against me is currently in good condition. Attempted murder has been filed against me in this context. The medical report also clarified that he had no injuries. Cases are being registered against me continuously due to political turmoil. The lower court dismissed my bail application without considering this. So I have to be granted bail in this case. ”
The Chennai High Court has refused to take up the bail petition as an urgent matter. The Chennai High Court has said that the list of cases for tomorrow will be taken up for hearing tomorrow.
