The High Court will reconsider Dileep’s anticipatory bail in the case of conspiracy to assassinate the investigating officer in the case of attacking the actress. The petition will be heard by Justice P Gopinath at a special sitting at 11 am today. It is learned that the court may announce its decision today on the prosecution’s demand that Dileep’s phone be handed over to the investigating officers.
Dileep had replied to the notice issued to the investigating officers asking them to give him the phone. Following this, the prosecution approached the High Court. The court had yesterday directed that the mobile be handed over to the High Court Registry. However, Dileep replied that if they were handed over to the mobile court, there would be a propaganda that they were in doubt. And it will then become a norm. That is unconstitutional. Dileep had said that he would give a detailed answer to everything. The Director General of Prosecutions questioned whether the court had directed him to co-operate with the investigation. The probe team has all the power and authority to seize the phones used by Dileep and others. The only obstacle is the protection provided by the court. Therefore, the prosecution demanded that the seven phones be handed over to the probe team immediately.
