The Higher Committee for Libyan-Chinese Cooperation holds its second meeting

Yesterday, Monday, the Supreme Committee for Libyan-Chinese Cooperation held its regular meeting, headed by the Minister of Local Government, Badr al-Din al-Toumi, and in the presence of the Director-General of the Administrative Centers Development Authority, the Director-General of the Housing and Utilities Projects Implementation Agency, and representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, and Planning, with the participation of the supporting technical team.

The attendees reviewed the reports prepared by the executive bodies regarding the number of projects, their nature, contractual destinations, total contracts, the values ​​of letters of guarantee, payments made, ready-made extracts, and the technical and financial completion rates of the projects.

It was agreed that the next meeting would be devoted to setting priorities for the projects targeted for activation, and to consider it the first stage of activation.

The Chairman of the Committee gave a briefing on the results of his meeting with the Chinese Ambassador, where the Ambassador stressed his country’s keenness and interest in activating the stalled projects and discussing ways to contract new projects.

It was also agreed during the meeting on the work paths for Libyan-Chinese cooperation, which were settled on and consisted of several paths, the most important of which was opening horizons of cooperation with regard to the Chinese initiative and activating projects contracted with Chinese companies, in addition to bilateral cooperation.
