The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein announces the success of its plan for the Ziyarat Ashura

The General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine announced today, Wednesday, the success of its plan to revive the Ashura rituals and the mourning (Tuwairij Run).

A statement by the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, received by the (INA), said: “The General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein announced the success of its plan to revive the Ashura ceremonies, especially the Tuwairij Run mourning.”
The statement indicated that, “The General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine, in accordance with the directives of the representative of the supreme religious authority and its legal guardian, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, and the Secretary-General, Hassan Rashid Al-Abayji, prepared this year a precise, accurate and comprehensive scientific plan that started on the night of the first of Muharram, in addition to organizing the (Tuwairij Run) mourning according to a scientific plan that is consistent with the methods followed in organizing the millions of crowds to prevent jostling and suffocation, especially in light of the high temperatures. Three paths were allocated for the mourners to enter the Al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine through the gates (Al-Zainabiyah, Qiblah of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), and Al-Raja), while four paths were allocated for the mourners to exit through the gates (Al-Salam, Al-Karamah, Al-Shuhada, and Qadi Al-Hajjat), in a manner that is consistent with the number of participants, in addition to using the latest surveillance cameras to organize the mourning according to a map that was drawn up by the specialized staff in the Al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine and specialists in the field of crowd management and organization.”
The statement pointed out that “the General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine focused this year on intensifying service efforts, especially in the health aspect by providing a number of fixed and field hospitals equipped with the latest medical equipment, medicines and necessary supplies, and deploying (14) medical detachments, an evacuation hospital and an emergency center, in addition to allocating specialized medical staff and volunteers from inside and outside Iraq, in addition to preparing nursing cadres and mobile cadres for medical evacuation, exceeding (900) people who were trained to deal with various emergency cases, in addition to deploying (24) first aid points and (600) paramedics from the Al-Warith Scouts Association affiliated with the Department of Social Development and Rehabilitation for Youth, with the establishment of (5) emergency points to support the first aid points.”
The statement continued, “With regard to the security aspect, the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) has mobilized all its cadres, in addition to employing (6,000) to provide the best services to visitors, in addition to providing a very modern monitoring system whose work was not limited to securing the visit, but was also used in the field of analyzing the distribution of visitors, in addition to special jamming systems in order to prevent unlicensed drones, in addition to deploying fire extinguishing vehicles and ladder vehicles, and allocating four (resuscitation teams), each of which includes an officer and (14) members carrying (oxygen) devices to treat cases of suffocation, especially among the elderly due to the intense heat and human pressure, in addition to introducing a very modern electronic system – German-made, divided into (10) partitions distributed at the doors of the Holy Shrine to control all areas of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) and send notifications in the event of a fire.”
The statement continued, “In the service field, a number of departments in the Al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine, especially the Department of the Care of the Holy Shrine, the Department of Communications, the Department of Maintaining Order, the Department of External Services, the Department of the Host, the Department of Mechanisms, the Department of the Care and Protection of the External Courtyard and its Entrances, the Planning and Follow-up Office, and a number of supporting departments such as the Engineering Projects Department, the Direct Implementation Department, and the Maintenance Department, mobilized all their cadres to provide the best services to visitors around the clock (24) continuous hours, in addition to the strenuous efforts of branches linked to a number of concerned departments, including – the Refrigeration Division, the Division of Processions and Husseini Rituals affiliated with the Al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine, and the Division of the Instructors.”
The statement explained that “the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein worked to reduce temperatures and provide a suitable atmosphere for performing the rituals by shading the streets near the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and deploying a large number of (spray fans).”
The statement stressed that “there is a high level of coordination between the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, the central and local governments, service departments, and security agencies of all kinds, while at the same time extending thanks and praise to all parties that contributed to the success of the visitation ceremonies, especially the Husseini processions, the people of Karbala, and its visitors.”
The statement concluded, “The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein extended its thanks and praise to the media institutions that worked around the clock to cover the Ashura rituals and broadcast them in various media outlets to deliver this eternal message to the farthest corners of the world.”
