Watan Al-Youm: Parliament approved a bill amending the Real Estate Property Law for the year 2023.
The House of Representatives approved, by a majority of the attendees, Paragraph C of Article 3 of a draft law amending the Real Estate Property Law, after a state of controversy, wholesale interventions, and government responses about the parliamentary fear of companies and investment funds of unknown nationality appropriating Jordanian lands, especially those belonging to the Israeli occupation.
During a legislative session held by the House of Representatives on Monday to discuss a number of bills, the House of Representatives voted to reject MP Ahmed Al-Qatawneh’s proposal to add a clause that excludes holders of Israeli citizenship from the provisions of the real estate property law.
Al-Qatawneh had said in his intervention: “We want to fortify this country… Immunizing Jordan is not with words.”
It is worth noting that the House of Representatives discussed, during the session held on Monday, the protection of personal data and real estate property laws, and the session witnessed strong interventions by some deputies who rejected the real estate property law as a dangerous and unconstitutional law.
