The Idea of You, Anne Hathaway’s new film, in which she shares credits with Nicholas Galitzine, was filmed entirely in the United States. This production, which tells the story of the romance between a 40-year-old single mother and a 24-year-old singer, takes viewers through Europe, New York and Los Angeles, however, everything was filmed in Georgia, where, the one that served as the protagonist’s Californian home is available on Airbnb.
The film, based on the book of the same name by Robinne Lee, was filmed in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia. In the film, Solène, Anne Hathaway’s character, is an art historian and manages her own gallery.
She lives in Silver Lake, California, in a house decorated to match her taste in art. In real life, this three-bedroom, three-bathroom house is located in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta and the production found it thanks to the accommodation platform.
“We found it on Airbnb and chose it for the outside, but the inside wasn’t right,” Amy Williams, the film’s production designer, told House Beautiful. So the team of The Idea of You took on the task of renewing the decoration, according to the character and complexion of Anne Hathaway. After two months of work, they managed to return the property to its historical personality.
The house is available on the Airbnb platform.

In the end, the owners were delighted, kept the modifications and kept the property on Airbnb.
