The high cost of housing, both owned and rented, is giving rise to housing alternatives. One of them is that of prefabricated and modular houses, which are built in parts and can be installed almost anywhere.
The range of prices for these homes, which can be used as a habitual residence or as a summer home, is very wide. Although some models can be found for just 1,000 euros, homes with more or less decent habitability conditions start at 6,000 euros and even reach 90,000.
This is the case of the homes offered by Casas Prefabricadas López, a Sevillian company with more than 20 years of experience in the sale and purchase of prefabricated mobile homes, made of wood or sandwich panels (plates made up of two steel sheets with a layer of insulation in between). ).
All the prefabricated mobile homes sold by this company are built “with maximum thermal and acoustic insulation, do not require maintenance and can be installed on any plot or land,” it indicates on its website.
Measurements and design to suit the client
The houses can be built in “any size and under any design under plan.” Except for the wooden ones, the rest are furnished. And all of them have pre-installations for water, gas and quick plug electricity, “so it’s just a matter of arriving and connecting in a few minutes with the facilities on your plot”.
One of the most successful models is the so-called Jerez. It is a prefabricated house made of sheet metal or sandwich panel. It is of fixed modular type. That is, it is built in parts and assembled in the place indicated by the client.
It has 50 square meters divided into a kitchen-dining room, a room with capacity for three beds, a bathroom, and a terrace with a pergola where a couple of chairs and a table can be placed. However, the comparator can choose “the distribution, measurements, model, colors and thicknesses”.
Different coating options
The price depends on the various coating options, both interior and exterior (plasterboard, ceramic, artificial stone, PVC, wood, etc.), but starts at 12,000 euros, although right now there is a promotion that leaves it at 9,000 euros.
If you want a special design or put up windows, you have to pay for it separately. Neither are the furniture included in the starting price of the house, nor its installation.
One of the advantages of prefabricated mobile homes is that they are considered real estate, which is why, the manufacturer assures, they can be installed “in rustic, agricultural, urban or near sea plots.”
