The husband of the vice-president of Sberbank Marina Rakova was arrested

The common-law husband of the ex-deputy head of the Ministry of Education and the former vice-president of Sberbank Marina Rakova Artur Stetsenko was arrested until December 5. He is suspected of large-scale fraud, the press service of the Tverskoy Court of Moscow said.

“The court granted the request of the investigation and chose a measure of restraint for Stetsenko, a suspect under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale), for a period until December 5, ”the press service of the court said (quoted by TASS).

According to RIA Novosti, the investigation believes that while Marina Rakova was the general director of the Foundation for New Forms of Education Development (FNFRO), Mr. Stetsenko was fictitiously employed in this organization and from 2017 to 2019 received over 9 million rubles under the guise of a salary.

Marina Rakova, previously put on the wanted list, was detained today, October 6. According to Kommersant’s sources, Ms. Rakova herself appeared at the Interior Ministry’s office in Moscow. She is a defendant in the case of embezzlement of more than 50 million rubles allocated for the national project “Education”.
